Finally, International Game Technology took a chance with Moody and his
concept and hit a home run. Today, about a decade after Moody walked in the
door, there are 16,000 Triple Play machines on casino floors in North
America, the second most successful slot machine game behind Wheel of
Fortune. Action makes between $15 and $20 a day per game in royalties.
The company does not disclose its revenue figures and IGT said the company's

Control Board reported today the 258 casinos statewide that grossed more
than $1 million reported net income before federal income taxes and
extraordinary items of $1.325 billion, the second highest profits in

Blackjack players can't get enough. 17,000 Blackjack
tables in North America just can't compete. Likely edging towards
10,000 Blackjack players have played As Easy As 1-2-3 and the numbers
continue to run as close to 100% as possible.
That is 100% of Blackjack players who play As Easy As 1-2-3 tell us the same
thing, "They would play As Easy As 1-2-3 over regular Blackjack if given the
choice." Well, in Ottawa, we added a few thousand more players
to that over-all success rate.
New Wrinkles on Blackjack
At the Global Gaming Expo at
the Las Vegas Convention Center, I took a close look at three of the latest
wrinkles. All seem like fun, but be careful. All three also increase the
house edge above and beyond that on the basic game.

CARSON CITY -- Nevada's 347 casinos enjoyed their best November ever,
winning $862.1 million from gamblers, up 12.9 percent compared with November
2003. Table-game win fell 6.7 percent to $237.8 million. The board
said the sports pools lost $1 million. Blackjack winnings statewide
rose 12.2 percent; craps was up 19.4 percent; roulette rose 15.5 percent and
